A straight swap, replacing your old boiler with a new one in the same spot, usually takes one day. Moving the boiler to a different room, or switching from a conventional boiler to a combi, normally takes two to three days because of the extra pipework. I'll give you a fixed timescale with your quote, and wherever possible you'll have heating and hot water back the same day the new boiler goes in.
Most installations in Hounslow cost £2,000 to £4,000, depending on the boiler and how much pipework needs changing. A straight swap is at the lower end. Moving the boiler or upgrading to a combi costs more because of the extra work. I'll always give you a fixed price before anything starts, no surprises on the invoice.
Yes, for at least the start and end of the job so I can talk you through the work and show you how the new boiler and controls operate. If it's a multi-day job, you don't need to be home for every hour, but you'll need access to the property throughout.
On a straight swap, no, you'll have both back the same day. On a bigger job, such as moving the boiler or fitting a combi, there may be a night or two without heating and hot water. I'll tell you exactly what to expect when I quote the job, and I'll always work to keep any gap as short as possible.
I remove it and dispose of it responsibly as part of the job, so you don't need to arrange anything separately.
Yes. Most new boilers come with a manufacturer's warranty of 5 to 10 years depending on the model, and I'll register it for you as part of the installation so the cover starts correctly.
Yes, but you don't need to arrange it yourself. As a Gas Safe registered engineer, I notify building control on your behalf when the work is complete, and you'll get a building regulations compliance certificate for your records.
